Google confirms the rollout of a broad core algorithm update on March 12. So far, it has been said that this update is one of the most significant updates in years. With this new update, they said, “some websites may face drop or lift in their website traffic.” The largest search engine has re-iterated their previous advice that there will be no fix if your website has reduced traffic.

Here is what Sullivan said in his tweet,

“There’s no ‘fix’ for pages that may perform less well other than to remain focused on building great content. Over time, it may be that your content may rise relative to other pages.”

The primary focus of this broad core update is to enhance the user experience. We have seen positive as well as negative changes on several websites. What we understood is, Google now started to interpret the search query in a very profound manner to achieve quality results. These results may have an impact on the website ranking or page rankings.

What domains will be affected?

Since Google has said that this change was not targeted on any specific domains, it is challenging to guess what has been changed and the subsequent impact. The goal of this update is to enhance the quality of the overall search results, and hence the algorithm is not targeted on low-quality pages or niche domain.
